    Default MUDCATS

Who out there is watching Mudcats on the History channel? Pretty neat show. For those who haven't seen it, it's a show about a group of guys in Oklahoma in a noodling tournament. Seeing these guys noodle for some flatheads gives me the itch even more to get out there. Can't wait till it warms up!

It's kool and all, but when they pull that big Flattie out it's probably nesting. So that big Flattie with the good genes... their eggs are now unprotected. All kinda panfish are having a feast. Some catfisherman and conservationist heckle and curse noodlers for doing this. As long as it's legal then there is nothing I can tell another law abiding American, but it does tear up an ecosystem.

I have watched a couple of the History Channel shows on noodling. If You watch close it is like watching Wrestling. Pure fake. Some of the fish I saw were tied in the holes with a stringer through thier lip and when they pull them up it still has the stringer attached.

Completely agree. Wish they would catch and release, but hey if it's legal, they are free to do what they want.

Couldn't agree with you more JC. They went to all the work to keep it alive at weigh-in and then lift it by the gills?? Give me a break!! I don't know if the sponsors try and turn them back alive or not, but like BassBrian said, the eggs are long gone and eaten. Sad.

alotta people use a stringer to get em underwater, lot easier to hang on to a stringer that it is a 40lb fish, i noodle and if you guys dont like it aint to skin off my teeth i dont care, i like noodling and im gonna keep doing it.
