Default Lake Wateree 2-25-12 Pre Tournament Thread

The Catawba Catfish Club will be having out 6th tournament of the 2011/2012 season on February 25th on Lake Wateree,S.C....Tournament hours will be from 7:00am-3:00pm with weigh in starting at 3:30pm sharp,Jeff and I will be there around 5:00am to start sign up...February has always been a great month for Wateree tournaments with some huge weigh ins, hopefully this year will follow suit and the weather will treat us good.
The location of the tournament is scheduled to be launched from Dutchman Creek Marina and Access but I recieved a call yesterday informing me that part of Dutchman Creeks parking lot has been blocked off and Keep Out signs have been placed around it.It looks as though we are gonna have to change the location of the tournament to the "Lake Wateree State Park".That is not set in stone yet,Jeff and I will talk to the folks at the State Park and get it set up.I will make a post by next Sunday evening as to the exact location of the Tournament. We were kinda figuring since Dutchman Store closed a couple of months ago that the parking lot would be next. The State Park is plenty big enough to handle a tournament of our size and they have 2 ramps available. We will get the word out as soon as we know something and your help in spreading the word after a definate location is decided will help alot as well.
We look forward to seeing everyone at Wateree.
Lets get a roll call going with some predictions for the Tournament:
    My Predictions:
    3 Fish weigh in-94lbs
    Big Fish-
    42 lbs

"....I recieved a call yesterday informing me that part of Dutchman Creeks parking lot has been blocked off and Keep Out signs have been placed around it...."

That is correct. I was there yesterday and they have flagging tape across half of the parking lot.

I will not make this tournament due to working the Daytona 500, but I will be sure to check in and see how things are going. It should be some mild weather and that should make for a 25+ boat field of the best anglers in the southeast.

    My prediction:
    Winning Weight: 91 pounds
    Big Fish: 38 pounds

I'am going to say 112lbs. With a 54 lb.big fish.It wouldn't surprise me if a 70 lb.+ fish came to the scales at this tournament. Will be down this Sat.to scout. Him out.

Just to inform everyone we have had to change the location of the 2/25/12 tournament at Lake Wateree.

We are now having it out of Lake Wateree State Park.We had to move it due to the fact that Dutchman Creek Store has closed shop and half of the parking lot has been blocked off.

Please be advised that Lake Wateree State Park charges a $2 fee per person over the age of 16,you must pay that at the designated booth upon entry into the park and fill out your slip for the box and window, they said that they monitor that very closely so everyone please pay.Sorry for the added cost but we had to do it there because its the only landing with enough parking.

Also the gate is open at all times now so that is not an issue.

We will be there about 5 to 5:15 to start sign up.

We look forward to seing everyone at Wateree for what should be a great tournament.
