Default J&D's update for bacon lovers

well so far in the J&D line ive aquired the origional hickory and pappered bacon salt wich has become quickly loved. kids and wife like it as much as i do. already wiped out a peppered. kids like it on fries. ive tried it on everything from baked potatoes to oysters.

got some of the bacon crutons. awesome. on salads or just eating them is hard not to do.

other day found bacon gravy. this is ok. not doing flips over it like the salt and crutons but its good. like adding bacon drippings to country gravy without having to fry bacon. it didnt taste like homeade country gravy with drippings though. its a powdered mix so it hasnt got the great homeade taste but still good and quick. witch most like.

heres a meal i had last week. salad with all the fixins. bacon bits and bacon crutons. and bacon gravy for the taters and drizzled on spicy chicken planks. the beans. BUSH'S texas ranchero. spicy ones. and a sprinkle of hickory bacon salt really added the bacon flavor many love in beans. you might think to much bacon. but there aint such a thing IMO.

LOL. I can tell you are a bacon lover. I love it too. My choice is wright’s bacon. Love their pepper bacon.
My wife bought a case of it a few weeks ago. She didn’t get the pepper kind but when she bags it up. She makes her own pepper bacon. Pretty easy. Just add a lot of black pepper, bag and freeze. Makes good BLTS
Also keep a jar of bacon grease for cooking and iron skillets.
Love bacon but I don’t overdo it. Course my Doctor might argue with me on that one. I guess the most thing that my wife says I over do is Tabasco
sauce. I put it on every plate of food I eat. Well 98% of the time I do. LOL
Now I’m thinking about cooking some bacon cheese burgers with all the veggies on top and with a couple three or four or so shots of Tabasco sauce to enhance the flavor just a little. . LOL

    I’m hungry.

LOL. You beat me too it.

I'll never admit trying it. LMAO

It does remind me of a story.
Couple years back we bought our dog some dog cookies for Christmas. They look and smell like real cookies. The bag use to scoop them up in at store is clear with little doggie paws on them.
I had them sitting on the counter. One of my Sons friends was over watching football games with us. He knows all he has to do is help his self to snacks this time he was being sneaky thinking, only one bag of cookies but he had to have one and not just one. Ate almost the whole bag.
I walk in, he has a mouth full. He looks up at me with a mouth full and says. Sorry, guess I should have asked or saved you some. You aint mad or you.
I said no I aint mad about it, help yourself but be careful. My dog is watching you and she don’t look happy about it. You eating her snacks. LMAO

well i got the salt at a grocery chain called krogers. dont think there nation wide. they also carry the gravy. wal-mart has the crutons here.

dan. we do have something in common. this is my stash. i put my in fisherman classic catfish dvd in them so you all know i didnt drum these pics off the net.

first pic is something new i found recently. smokehouse ground black pepper. when you open this and smell its like someone has a rack of ribs over a hickory fire. the smoke flavor is right in the pepper. made by MC cormick. the second is some chili pepper lights i got on clearence from christmas for $2.50.

dan look at my stash. i have 16 bottles of red green tobasco in my shop lol. and the rest are on the shelf in the house. at any given time i have 6-10 different hot sauces in my house lmao. tobasco being the favorite for sure. one of our former sponsers texas select has a red savina and garlic one thats great too but way to hot for most. i love my tobasco.

when i was in my 20's me and some friends were on a kick. monicals pizza here has an all you can eat on mondays. back then it was cheap. $5.50 for each person. we would go in groups of 5-8 of us every monday and eat 4-5 x-large pizzas with a pitcher a piece lol. then to the bar for a few and back home to watch monday night football. why the story. because i was the dedicated tobasco man. i would stop at the iga foodstore right up the road from the pizza shop and grab a bottle of tobasco. we usually killed it while we ate. the place had red hot. just wasnt good enough for us lol.

they still have it. took the kids this summer and it was like $7 for adults now. still not bad. and yes. my family shook thier heads cause dad pulled out a bottle of tobasco from my pocket as always.

on the reciept they always show the all you can eat discount. what it took off from the grand total when the do the all-you-can-eat discount. one of our records was just a few cents over -$120.00

ya just google bacon salt. i want the bacon lip balm lmao. or how about baconaisse. yes bacon mayo.

LOL. I have read your post and looked at your food pics for years. I know you don’t drum up pics off the net.
Your stuff makes me hungry. ( Mutt too ) I remember the rabbit and the peppers and I have cooked me up some. Good stuff.
I like the spicy, love the tabasco. I got to sometimes add it to my own plate cause the rest of my family don’t like heat like I do. That is why I use a lot of tabasco. LOL But, I aint trying to burn up my taste buds either. I aint in a contest. I just like spicy, peppers. The flavor. I could drink tabasco sauce. LOL

Them all you can eat places. Be Pizza or what ever. I’m going to eat. I dang sure get my moneys worth. Heck a couple days ago I was at a place in Louisiana. After an hour of eating, Everyone got up and left me at the table. Waitress came buy . You finish. I said I’m just getting started. LOL. I was in there 2 1/2hours eating after the rest left. The desert killed me at the end. I normally don’t do desert after eating but I could not pass up all the choices. LOL
BTW. I aint fat either. I’m lucky weight aint a problem for me. Just a gut. LOL
But speaking of Pizza. There is a place I go for all you can eat. They got a special pizza. Hot, lots for meat, peppers and other stuff. and it aint little suff. They slice the topping fresh.. Their pizzas are baked in a brick wood fire oven. Good stuff. The right time, I will wear it out.

BTW. I remember Texas Select seasoning. I still get some now and then. Good stuff. I wonder what happen to them. They use to be on this site.
They sure could cook a pig.

    And I love bacon
