Dammed off the creek right behind my house, gonna have me a nice little stocked bait hole!![]()
Louis, I'm still realatively new to this and have not yet figured how to keep those baits on the hook. I can see me feeding all the flatties free food if I try casting those things out for bait. And, as for the walleye and bass gear, that record's going down this year to someone targeting flatheads (Hopefully me).
Only a 7 pound channel was caught for me tonight. Poor thing almost got his eye misplaced by a circle hook barb.
Hope you guys had better luck.
Not much better Eric. We got in one 8,9, or 10 lb flatty. It was caught on a large live bluegill. We seemed to have more hits on live than cutbait. We were at the water from about 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. I think with the low water we may have been fishing very shallow though. Next time we will try our other spot which has a deeper hole. Still, it was a warm night and it was great to catch our first flathead of the year, even if it was only a little kitty. Can't wait for the water and the hits to warm up!
