Holy Thursday was well spent out on the River.

Got 3 fish in; a 20.8 by my buddy & 13 by me.

Then I got a huge run by what I thought was a 30#+ Flathead, after the short but brutal fight I landed a PB...

I know how that is, My buddys had got torn up from the 13# flat & mine got torn up from big momma channie.

Why must those fish have the urge to spin & turn?

The "Death Roll" and to think I'd be smart enough to wear the fish gloves I brought before the thumb shredding not after.

I think part of it is the heavy gear. The fish are pulled in fast and they are still very green.
I used to play channels out on light line. They would be too tired to spin on me by the time I picked them up but I learned it's not good to exhaust the fish.

Your probably right, my channel was caught on my strongest setup and I landed him within 3 minutes while fighting in current. it was funny cos soon as I landed it my buddy said it was a channel and i was like are you F...... kidding me?!? then he pulled him out of the water and saw thee gut..then i wasn't so angry haha.

ID love to catch another big channel.. But usually any we catch are just 8lbers lol.. I hope this mon n tue is flats all night
