I did have another hit that ran the same way when I was takin pics. That one broke off. Jermy won the chicken dinner. It was at a power plant. Only 8 feet deep but the water is 70 deg. Then its official I got my goal for the year already, wanted to catch a flathead. Now for last years, a 30lb channel and hopefully some more flattys.

heck just moved over to check the 5 day before i submitted this thread. 51 tues and 52 wed. its on like donkey kong. im fishing. thurs takes a dive to high of 30 with snow. so i got a 3 day winder. think ill wait to go tomorrow or tues. a few degrees warmer. wont wait till thurs as i want to fish into dark. dont know for sure when the bomb will drop so ill definatly go. prob be going both mon and tues. get a few hrs in both days so i dont have to sit and get cold. hit prime hrs both days. going to get my new cl-40s out and ready.
More power to ya. I hate anything below 60. Next year it'll probably be a low of 62 I hate.
The older i get the more I want warm weather. Too many broken bones and surgeries for that cold stuff anymore.

im about an hour from the illinois where im at. dont go there much. around peoria its wide as hell and polluted and you cant eat much. the flying carp are thick around havana. we went down this fall and caught a few with nets. as they jumped lol. they are really good eating. and the river is way better quality down that way. its a good place to fish and im planning on doing a few trips that way this year.

down around havana its 1/3 the width of what it is around peoria. it looks like the mississippi around that area. there quite aways apart but both right at 45 min to an hr from me.

ya when i asked where you were fishing i had thought you were from illinois. you are closer to the rock river. thats a great flathead river.
