I was checking out your site looks like great fishing! I have only been in a chair for a little over 1 1/2 year, and was wondering how I would get back in a boat. How does one get into a boat in a wheelchair?

dont worry too much about running a prop...only downfall is that you have to go slower and keep an eye out for rocks. Ive never had the glory of running a jet but have been with some people who have had them and boy are they nice on the susky. I too cannot afford a jet but as lee said just take your time and get to know the areas. The gps is definitly a plus too!!

one other tip is wait till the river gets low this summer and go out and cruise around, slow of course, motor trimmed up and that way you can get a good idea of where all the big rocks are and the main channel is. Take a person with ya to spot rocks. Thats basically how i started out.

Not sure what the draft is on it but I'm thinking I might be better off with something wider with a shallower draft like the G-3 Tunnel Hull with a jet. I figure my boat will be fine in the Spring but mid summer might not go so well. Base of operation would be Harrisburg and I'd be fishing the middle Susky from Sunbury south to the state line. Offer up your opinions folks. Should I go shopping for a new boat or will the one I have do the trick.

You are going to be all over the Flatheads this year Joe! I'd do exactly like Lee says and get yourself a nice fishfinder with a GPS. You'll be golden once you get your routes locked in during the low water period. Follow the lines on the unit and you should be good to go.

Fished 6 hours today. Caught 2 channels one was 5lbs the other one was 8lb7oz. I had a good bite on my one rod and set the hook and my braid snapped! I wont be using braid EVER again. Im putting 40 mono on it tonight and throwing that braid away for good. It was nice to use 3 rods when fishing byself LEGALLY lol. Hopefully get out tomorrow and do it again.

I had to get one picture in like rivershark

Pretty cool sunset and the water temp was 35

if you want to go. we can get you in the boat. i would have the boat in the water. and we can use an atv ramp and get you right in. i would go in may for flatheads. late march for channels and april. i m doing a new thing this year for channel cats. 10lb channel cat or your trip is free.

if a fish finder with gps is out of price range use a hand held garmin and mount it on the console. that will work also for making routes, and marking holes.

Nice! Beautiful sunset. Went out Friday. Had a few hits but nothing solid. Water was perfectly clear. I like it better when it's muddy.
