Wait for a hatch during may-june. You will know that a hatch is going on when the water is covered with flies. When I say covered I MEAN COVERED! I seen millions and millions float by after a hatch and fish were going wild on the river.
Take advantage of the 3 rod rule, 2 bottoms 1 fly rod! Good luck. Get yourself some sulfur patterns and you should be set

i also found that during the hatch, you just as well bring in your bottom rods. because they ain t hittin.

Welcome Doug to the USCA!
Scroll to bottom of this page and click the archive tab. You will find last years threads there. You may need to reach a certain number of posts to be allowed to do this however, not sure. You should introduce yourself on our local Pa. area and get a avatar up. Guys will be much more responsive once you do that!

Been out fishing on the river a couple times this winter trying to get my fix even in the frigid cold on a cold cold aluminum jon boat haha. We have been catching a lot of flats nothing overly large (20-30lb area) but here is the best luck I have had yet.
Pictures dont do this hting justice 40" easy forgot to get girth and didnt have scale on the boat. Fish was released.

new to assoc.
hello everyone, sort of new to this catfishing, my wife and I went to falmouth last year a few times and caught a few small flats and then I caught a 20 lb. and we are hooked. I was wondering which side to put in on Lake Aldred and is it easier to navigate then falmouth. Definetly not asking for hotspots just some advice for boating. I do not have a jet.
We love to fish and the challenge of finding these fish

you can put in on either side at lake aldred. yes it s better there for a boat with a prop.
