We hope all of you have the best time of your life. MayBud huh, come to think of it I was around when they invented the wheel, not to mention fire. Back then Maw said we had to have fire so we could cook biscuits.

Waiting for the rain to stop before leaving. Looks like it will be out of the area by the time we get there.

It was great to see and meet everyone this morning. Hate that it rained the whole time, hope the rest of the weekend stays dry.

Well, another Pickwick gathering has done come and gone. When we think of Pickwick gatherings certain things come to mind such as ... great food, wonderful company, tons of BS, RAIN, fishing, and plenty of incidents to make it memorable. This time around, Pickwick stayed true to form.

    We had:
rain...plenty of it, even rained at mealtime as usual. We did see the occasional hail stones fall, the biggest one I saw was a tad smaller than a golfball, came and went fast and no damage was done, thank goodness.
wonderful company....OhNo, Griz, Lil Griz, Tailfin, Shilohred and Marilyn, BAM, Canebreaker and his sweet wife(can't think of her name, forgive me), and Me, Hershell, Cody and his new girlfriend Ashlee.
great food....Pete and Marilyn, as always, outdone themselves cooking the meal, altho I do believe Pete had more fun with it this time cause he got to play with his new toy.
good fishing....this year the fishing started out great, skipps were running like crazy and folks were able to fill their coolers left and right, stripers and cats were caught as well.
BSing....well, lets just say there was an over-abundance of that... always is, always will be... you know to expect it when ya get this group together.... gotta love it.
and memorable incidents.....just a friendly tip for the next camping trips.... check your gear condition (especially air mattresses) before you leave home... Thanks Lil Griz for letting us sleep in your new truck, I'll mail you a new wild cherry pine tree asap, lol. Nuff said on that.

Only thing I could think of that would have made it any better was having more time to be there with the gang, and having the rest of the group who didn't make it be with us. Just so you know, you all were missed, even if Pete said you weren't.

Now, we have our sights set on the Chattanooga gathering. Four weeks and counting, I truly hope he is not scheduled to work that weekend so we can see all those who we didn't get to see this time. Let's keep praying the weather for that weekend will be peaceful and beautiful and everyone is in good health and spirits.

I'm gonna go now and get a few things done in prep for next work week, just wanna say I luv you all, we enjoyed being with everyone and can't wait to do it again. (((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))

I'm not going to repete what Punkin said. But a great time. Pete could call the second that someone was going to catch a fish. Deb and I left to do some fishing, he told the others that we wouldn't get a bite. He was right.

All that I can say, the ones that were not there. Boy did you miss a fun time. But then again its always a good at Pickwick.
The hail was big but no match for all the good friends there.

The fishing was not the best, as current was something TVA did not want to happen. LOL

Got to try out my new 9 gallon Bayou classic fish cooker and man its one cooking machine for sure. They say you can cook fish, Hush Puppy's and fries for 75+ per hour and I believe it.

Looking forward to East Tn end of the month, And don't forget we have a fall gathering at Pickwick in Sept Or OCT.

Pete I got your text message and as much as I regret missing this gathering my boss called and I ended up working all day Sunday any way. I know you all had fun and I'm sorry I missed it, but I have to please the boss and Lori to keep the bills paid. I really want to make the pickwick gathering and maybe next year will work out for me. Things are getting better and worse here as work goes, but I have to do what is needed and that is the short of the situation. Sorry I missed it and know you all had a great time. I pray everyone made it home without any problems.
