Jack Links Beef Sticks
I know, we've all caught some catfish on some "non-traditional" baits. Here lately, I've been chewing on some Jack Link Beef Sticks (original flavor) and decided to try some for bait. I've caught seventeen cats in the last two weeks (2 blues, 15 channels). I've been using set lines off docks at small lakes. The bait is still a little softer than I'd like it to be, but will still stay on "OK" and give out a scent trail all night long. No, I don't think it will replace live or cut bait, but it does appear to perform better than most of the "grocery store" baits for overnight set line situations. BTW, I also tried the Terriauki flavored beef sticks and they didn't catch a thing. Has anyone else used these (for other than eating themselves) and if so what was your experience?

I took some Jack Links with me on a fishing trip earlier this summer . My experience was a bit different . Soon as I opened the package I started hearing some rustling in the woods behind me and the hair on back of my elbows started to stand on end . After about 30 minutes of shear terror out from the darkness steps the ever illusive squatch , yeti , skunk ape (not skunko) , bigfoot or what ever you might know him as . Turned out all he wanted was my Jack Links . He also only likes the original flavor . I ended up giving him two full bags , with the agreement he would scare folks away from my spot when I wasnt out there . Hopefully they dont have Jack Links with them hard telling what he may agree to .

If I ever run into your friend, I'll be sure to offer him a piece of "Jack" without the 6/0 hook attached. We don't want to upset the big guy. Nice response.
