    Default Lake Winnebago Area

Anyone have any tips for fishing this lake from shore? Been fishing the Fox River between Butte de Morts and Winnebago along the Rainbow Park area. Looking for other productive areas. I'm not from the area but can find my way around pretty good.

Stinky pt. in Lakeside Park Fond du Lac is a place I have been told to try by a forum member , MissKitty I believe . Not sure exactly where that is but my guess would be where the waste water treatment plant dumps back into the lake .lol

I would normally scout places out and then just start fishing places but it's an hour minimum drive to Oshkosh and Appleton areas (all highway) which takes a lot out of the fishing time. So if anyone has any leads I'd appreciate it. I stopped at several places in the Oshkosh area to ask about catfishing and all I got was "I don't fish (don't know who does) for garbage eaters." Not a goood way to run a business if you ask me. Each one turned me off and will not see my business.

Winneconne has a place that is pretty cool.It is the only bridge in the state that it is legal to fish off of.Also.East of where the bridge is , is a place to by bait and have a beer, even fish off the dock on the property ,it's called Lang's Landing
I have not fished there ,but have no doubt fish can be had. If you go to Winneconne chamber of commerce website .you can see a streaming video of the area of the bridge.

I've been thru Winneconne in the past. I know the bridge is a very popular place to fish from in the spring by walleye fishermen. I remember seeing them use nets on very long poles (15') to retrieve their catch. The distance from bridge top to water surface would be a problen if you caught a decent size channel or flathead. But it is still an area to check into. Maybe a better SHORE area is available nearby. Thanks for the reminder about this place.

Check out the wolf river. I have seen some hogs come out of there.

I know lots af cats, both channel and flatheads are caught on the Wolf River, if you have a boat to get to the places. There is very limited places to fish from shore. The few areas there are are not good cat spots. And usually lots of go-fast A**hole boaters that ignore no-wake bouys and reak general havok on fishermen. I've been to Fremont several times and always leave quickly because of frustration cause of all the 'I have the right to be an as*h*le' jerks.
