    Default HARD HITTER HOOK

Have any of you ever had fish hammer it hard 1 time, then nothing? I know I have and was wondering if the fact that I was using J hooks keep them for hooking themselves at least once in a while? Would a kahle or circle hook have helped? They didn't load the pole, just tried to take it with them. ?? confused!??

a circle hook would remedy that problem.

Try a circle hook. Also a channel will sometimes just slam the bait with its body and not eat it.

have been dealing with this issue recently in my fishing hole, add a stinger hook, all the cats are grabbing just the tail and crushing/killing the bait and then leaving, lots of food in the water right now and they are not hungry in my spot, but they still mouth/taste the bait, added a stinger hook on the tail, caught some of them, they were full to bursting, with minnows, afraid to grab them around the middle full incase they projectile vomited their belly full of baitfish all over, lol.
