Lake Wateree 5-7-11 Pre Tournament Thread
The Catawba Catfish Club will be having our last tournament of the 2010/2011 Tournament Season coming up on May 7,2011.It will be on Lake Wateree,SC. out of Dutchman Creek Marina and Access. This will also decide the Points Championship for 2010/2011.Right now Team Reelin the Blues has a 10 point lead over 2nd Place Team Hawg Seekers, they are the only 2 teams still in contention for the title and the money from the Points Fund which stands at $433 right now and will grow with this event. Those 2 teams surely have been the most consistant teams this year, teams 3-12 are bunched up fairly tight and alot of those positions could?will change after this event also.
Tourney time will be at 6:00am/Safe Light-3:00pm with weigh in beginning at 3:30pm,this tournement will be a hour longer than the normal time frame so be aware of that fact.
Hopefully Dutchman Creek store will open early for us so we can sign everyone up and have breakfast before blast off,if not we will be in the store front at the picnic tables signing up.
We hope everyone can make plans to be there, the bite should be great with the Pre Spawn in high gear and the Big Cats on the move.Hopefully the Good Lord will Bless us with good weather for this one.
Lets get the Roll call going on who all is planning on fishing this one and what ya think the winning weights for 3 Fish Total and Big Fish will be.Also lets hear if ya think Bowlerman and Netman can hold off the Dickersons and Claim the 2010/2011 Catawba Catfish Club Points Championship.
My Predictions:
Big Fish-44 lbs
3 Fish Total Weight-97lbs
Points Champions-Too tough to Call,Both Teams are great on Wateree,a 10 point lead is gonna be hard to overcome but it can be done if Reelin the Blues has an off day.
See you all there.

I fished Wateree this morning. I hit the lake just as the sun was coming up. Bait today was frozen skip jack, live white perch from the bait tank at home, and a couple throws of the cast net and I had more than enough shad for the day. The bite was good early and had two in the boat before I could get all of my lines set up. Then about 10am it slacked off then I picked up a few more around noon and was off the water by about 1:30. The biggest fish was only 8lbs and it was the 2nd fish in the boat. Total fish was 13 blues and 1 channel. Bait of choice perch 10, shad 4, and skip jack a big fat 0. I did have one fish hit and go for a run across 5 lines. I was able to get one out of the five free and after about a half hour of messing with it I just cut all the lines. I hate it when that happens…. lol
Team Reelin the Blues better get down there and pre-fish. I saw Team Hawg Seekers out there today. But then again as good as they are maybe they don’t need to.

Dolittle you are more than welcome to join me in fishing the last tournament under one condition. I have to keep you in the cockpit of the boat – no more making love to the catfish out on the swim platform….lol. You guys will have to ask him about that one. Where is the camera when you need it for that split second shot.

Well looks like my offshore dates have changed. My friends (boat owner)girlfriend won a trip to Hawaii through her work for a convention, and his birthday is this week so she extended their stay another week so he could get in a few days of Pacific Ocean fishing. So Im planning on being there for the last one of the year.
No prefishing for me. I think it just gets your head messed up cause you caught fish there the week before and you wont leave the spot to try something differnt cause you know "Their there".
