    Default Trailer hub ?

    Has anyone got or tried the oil bath hubs on thier trailer ? I know I would like to try some ,but I was wondering if anyone else had them an how they liked/dislike them .Thanks for any info .

    I do not personally own a set, however we have several sets at work. I'll stick with my normal grease filled hubs. The oil ones seem to always be leaking or empty......

    From what I have read when thier working thier very good, thier one failing point is you spring a leak and you lose the oil while out on a trip you have to make a repair right on the spot or you will fry the bearings where as grease is a good bit more forgiving and even water in a grease filled hub will get you home, If your looking at changing hub styles to make it a lot easer to maintain a grease hub take a look at this. It pumps grease from the back of the hub out through the front and repacks it with out having to pull the hub. It is a hub replacement and not a complete axle and hub. And it is a nightmare to fry a hub out on the road.
