went today to santee lakes for the catfish opener. caught around 48 cats and ended up with the second biggest of the day. released about 30 and gave some away and keeped 12 for myself and friends.had lots of fun and will be going back in the morning.

got to santee lake at 6am and fished till 12pm. There was not a single bite in lake 3 and 4. So after laying down for 6 hours decided to call it quit and take the skunk. couldnt believe that nobody got a bite. seems like they are all spooked and hiding. Did see a lot of bass on the shore line laying in there bed. will try again the day after they stock again. beautiful day today also fish just didnt play.

good report there brother. did pretty good today at woos lake. 10-12 bass, not bad for several hourts and a six pac....hehehehehehehehe:rotfl:

Will try to make the next gathering or even before but if i wasnt going to the river the same weekend trust i would be there. i dont have a problem with catching the skunk cause like you said its all about the company from the caliboy that makes this trip worth it plus i can leave my wife at her parents house in merced while i go out and play. Also might not be fishing tomorrow since i caught a cold yesterday at the lake. fish on my brothers and be safe.

Jaime, i always use sabiki rigs with cut mackeral on the hook. always pull up 2 or more at a time. i also fish for mackeral with glow sticks at night. u should try it, its really fun to watch the glow stick fly across the water.

well tomorrow i will go fishing again. the wife said i couldnt go cause i caught a really bad cold from last weekend fishing at the lake. Anyways i feel a lil better and will go give it a shot in the afternoon before work and maybe after work also. will have the report tomorrow. until then fish on.

so got out to the pier a little after noon again. started with cut mackeral for some sandbass or whatever will take it. got a bit 30 minutes into it. the wind was strong and it was hard to tell if it was a bite or not, so left the rod alone and started talking to one of my buddy that just got back from deployment. start bullshiting around and i turn around and bendo my rod is about to fly in the water. ended up catching a small sandbass. also the halibut is starting to bite. i will try tomorrow for them butts, just didnt have the set up for it today. saw the guy next to me rod run 3 times like bendo bendo and bendo run then let go. knew it was a halibut but it never took the bait again. that was it and i packed it in early to get to work.

well im about to go give it a shot again tonight since i havent been doing anything since we finished a lot the other day. so that means im ahead of schedule and more time for fishing. will have the report when i get home. oh yeah going to get to use the new bells tonight.

so just got back from night fishing and caught some mackeral for the river and lake. had my new set up and damn i had some action on it. same thing like always cut mackeral dipped in unibutter. casted out in the deep and 30 minutes later BAM rod is screaming and about to fall in the bay. good thing i tie my rods down. grab the pole and line still screaming out. call my buddy over so i can try to get it on video for you guys but right when he gets the camera SNAP 30lb braid snapped. F**K F***K F***K, couldnt believe it that it snapped the 30lb braid from invicta, This has only happened to me like 3 times with braid. reel in line and looked at it and looks like it snapped at the swivel. re tie the carolina rig with a slider and out it goes in the water. next 5 minutes im cleaning up again and bell is going off. im telling myself looks like round two.get to the rod set the hook and nothing. WTF didnt feel anything kick back so reeled in some more and felt some life on the other end. ended up being a small stingray. call it a night after that. going back tomorrow with the bigger set up.
