i choose bluegill because it is easy to get i would have picked shad but im not to good at throwing a cast net so its hard to get them

I can't believe bluegill wasn't an option! Bluegill, rock bass, etc. are all I really use on the river I fish. I also love a good chub or sucker but they aren't a sure bet in most of my bait holes.

It has always seems like green sunfish are more lively than bluegill, and the bluegill usually die on the hook... green sunfish are my go/to bait for flatheads

When fishing for flatties I like to use perch or what yall call bream, but have also used shad, small mooneyes, bullheads, and small bighead and regular carp. I have found that perch do the best in these waters around gasconade.

i as well am a lover of those green sunfish. Where I fish, there is a pond that these are all that are in it. Have to make a quick stop with a few gulp maggots and catch a few each time. To me they just seam like the toughest live bait I can find.

Bait fish
Hands down all u need is skipjack and cut bluegill to hook a hog in the ohio river.

4" or 5" Bream for sure. If I don't use them hole then I will cut them up.
But I try and always use bream...
