technically they are all collectively sunfish. Learned that the hard way from an icthyology teacher, but growing up they were all perch, except for pumkinseeds which were roosters. further technicality.. perch are in an entirely seperate genus (walleye, sauger). gets confusing but generally speaking perch or bream is a well known collective term for all the sunfishes
