i have a couple catfish books at home and they said in te early 1900 people were catching blues around 200lbs so who knows how big they can get.

Lets see how big they can get, if we always throw our big cats back they will just keep growing

Who knows! They hide under water!
I voted 200+ cause we just don't know. It is like asking a farmer how big do the turtles get in his 4 acre stock pond? He has no idea. But he has seen ducks and geese go under & disappear, plus some 9/0 bankline hooks straightened and broken every year. An old catman once commented: Big Cats eat & grow whether we see them or not. Plus 95% of all fishermen are set up to catch bait sized fish, not monster cats above 200#. That is why I have one homerun pole with a whole skip out whenever we are catfishing. Just need more time to fish.

200 may be a bit of a stretch, but I think 150+ is not only possible, but probable.

I say 150-200 cause the record is like 125lbs so I know that there are bigger fish out there. Its know one has out smarted that big one to be caugh. 2nd he didnt become the lake/river monster by eating everything we throw out cause he would have been on a dinner plate with hot sauce, biscuits and jelly..... lol
Fishing is like sex. "It's no big deal unless your not doing it."
