all i can say about tonight is wow! after work i decided to go to the river, no bait just the hopes that i could catch some whitebass for the night. ended up catching half a dozen of them right before dark. i started off with three flatheads under 10lbs, then i lost one probably in the mid teens, no biggy so i couldnt care. after that i caught a 20lber so im thinking wow this is a great night and then a few minutes later, boom. my rod started going nuts and he took off. fought him for a few minutes, the TWC extenders handled well, and well here he is, my new PB at 36lbs!

oh and this is the butterfly thing i was talking about,

Damn Nick you are on fire this year bro. big congrats to ya for that big old brute of a fish. you've paid your dues and its paying off big for ya this year. thanks for the pic of how you rig your bait up. never thought of doing it like that before. going to have to give that a try ASAP.

me and a friend hit a new spot today, we each got three with the biggest being 15lbs, all flatties and nothing hit livebait, my friend lost a nice one on cut trout that ran him into a snag.

hes usually just a trout and bass fisherman, i take him every once in a while for cats and he gets so frustrated. i think its kinda funny cause he swears like a sailor. he likes to play them out but with the rocks we were around he wouldnt listen to me when i told him crank the drag down. but oh well it was funny.
