Well, so much for getting an early start this morning. Rain is here for a little longer. I will be getting to the river as soon as the weather breaks.

Rotary Park was muddy and current was strong most of the day. Did manage to get a few hybrids and stripes in the boat. Skips are there but not stacked up yet. You gotta work for them right now.

Well Jon and I fished out of Bulldog this morning and got rained on most of the day.
Before the water started rolling hard we caught about 20 fish with the 5 biggest weighing around 40lbs or so.
I got the chance to meet Troy and Angie (great people) and they had a good day of fishing or I hope they did.
The fish all came on cut skipjack with slow current and as soon as the current picked up the bite stopped all together.
The Hooch was clear when we got there but the rain started before we left the ramp and by the time we got to the only spot I fished the water was muddy red and the trash was every where, didn't get the water temp.

Started out in the pouring rain and like Eddie said the bite was on early. We landed 14 in the boat within 3 hours. Warning this is alittle long.
Just going to say a few things while I got time.
First Thanks to Paul for having this idea to start a Forum so people from all over the USA could share ideas and learn from each other.
I have been fishing all my life and have caught some nice fish.My personal best fish is Blue cat 74lb, Flathead 34lb and Channel 13 lb.Some people think " boy he knows how to fish " well, I think I just got lucky on those days.
Me and Angie started fishing the Hooch last year ,We started fishing the Hilljack Tournaments and I found out that " yes I got lucky on those days I caught some big cats " and even though We can fish the Coosa river and catch nice cats almost every time, We still have so much to learn about Catfishing.
For almost a year that we have fished the Hooch we still couldn't catch any decent cats.I know they are there I see them at the weigh in What makes this river different than the Coosa, we fish the Coosa we catch 30 lb fish, we fish the Hooch we catch hardly anything. So what do we do,We call Eddie " Efrith" we talk on the phone for awhile and he asked me questions about how I'm fishing this river. He offers to spend a day just teaching us about this river. " not showing magic holes " just the history and the way this river is so much different than the Coosa.
After some long talks over the phone not even have met Eddie in person we fished this river a week ago and caught 15 fish Not very big but we were catching some.
We met Eddie this past Saturday in the pouring rain, he had Jon " Jkk6028" with him. We talked for a few min and we launched our boats, we were in the water by 9am we tried for skips awhile and didn't catch any so we used what bait we had brought with us.Eddie said " lets fish a 4 hr mini tournament and see what you have learned from talking with me. By 2:30 we had 14 fish in the live well most weighing over 5 lb the best around 10lb.Eddie still beat us with 5 fish weighing close to 70 lb or more.
We met Eddie,Jon, Kenneth, Dustin, and Critter. It was great meeting you guys.Talked to Uncle Less for a few and saw Tim and Teresa all in all a great day on the Hooch.
Eddie thanks for your time on and off the water, you are a great person. If I had a faster boat we would have beat you ! you got " my " spot
