    Default New Channel Catfish Combos

I am wondering what everyone thinks of those Pinnacle Cat Masters combos? I am going to be buying 2 7ft baitcast combos soon and am thinking of loading them up with 30lb power pro, how does that sound as nice channel cat setups? my setups last year were 2 medium action spinning uglysticks and a medium action ugly stick rod with a ming yang reel on it, and im looking to upgrade because i plan on targeting catfish as my main species and the 2 typee of cats i will be after are flatheads and channels, so anyways lol, how do you think those setups will do for channels?

Thomas, Pinnacle reels in my experience are good quality , the only thing I was thinking is ya dont need 30 lb line for channels , but if ya gonna use them on flats too it may be a bit light .

i know the 30lb isnt needed and was thinking 20lb but i think 30lb just iin case i hook into flats when i use larger llive gills like 4"+ for channels, where i fish for channels theres flats too so i have to be prepared for both i guess lol and using live baits theres always good chance of hooking a flathead

I use 30lb line on channels, but only because there are a million snags where i fish. The snags are all covered in zebra mussels which cut light line with ease.

i use 40lb mono on all my rods. I catch channel cats to 20lb, flatheads to 40 lb and blue cats to 50lb.

    Default CATFISH COMBOS

Those combos sound like they will do just fine.I would reconsider using braid with rods that have a two piece guide setup .Every rod that i have used with braid that has a traditional guide setup has failed at some point and by that i mean that one or more eyelets has separated from the guide.

Those set ups will work for ANY catfish you want to go after.
