Trotlining and Juggin in the winter
Do you guys use trotlines or jugs all winter? If so do you make any changes to your set-ups? I only fish lakes and the small rivers that feed it, should I stick to the main lake or the rivers in winter?

1 piece of advice I can give is go deep. I usually run my trotlines in coves on th main lake, but I go deep and chum like crazy. during the winter your waters o2 level will drop because the colder the top water gets the more dense it is so it pushes th o2 down. you find your oxygen level, you find your fish. I dont have alot of luck gettin monster fish during the winter, but for eaters i use cut bait, shrimp & rotten gizzards for bait. to chum I ferment wheat during the summer, once it sinks real good i'll add cornmeal, corn(from a can) & dry dog food and just sit back. Also if u make perch traps and use small perch that works yr round, live or cut. I use 3 diff kinds of hooks, "J" for gizzards an shrimp, circle and khale for live and cut bait. just make sure you dont overload th hook and u will hook'em.
