    hi,
    I live here in Italy and can tell you anything you need- basically for the fishing licence you just pay the annual permit whic is 23£ (more or less 30$) and in some special rivers and zones you might have to pay an additional annual license.
    I fish for european catfish all the time (never got a big one...), european catfish differs a lot from regular catfish...they are a lot bigger and whey more selective on what they eat...
