Default Looper's rigs in Mississippi river?

Has anyone had any luck with loopers rigs on the Mississippi river? Wanting to find a good rig for sonny's dip bait that will hold
up to the current while fishing from the bank.

Brian Welcome to the USCA. The looper rig is a great dip bait holder, regardless of dip bait brand. It will hold better than other tube holders in current. The might Mississippi has a lot of strong current and this would tell me you would need to check your bait holder more often, maybe every 10-15 minutes. I have fished the Looper rig in the Ohio with success but have not tried it in the Mississippi.

Hey mickey do what do you think works better, the looper rig or putting cotton in the bait?

When fishing with dip bait I will choose the Looper rig/Mini Fury Thang over all other bait holders. When you add cotton are fibers to dip bait you are changing the consistency to a punch bait and no longer need the bait holder. The hotter it is the punch bait is the best choice. I just got some looper rigs. They hold the bait great. I tried cutting one in half because they are so big but then it didnt hold the bait as well. Either that or something sucked it off but didnt get hooked.
