You can also drain off the blood, set them out and salt both sides with non-iodized salt. put them in a zip lock, take as much of the air out as possible. It's been my experience that when you pull them out of the freezer they won't be all froze together.

salt is an antifreeze agent and will keep you livers from freezing solid in most freezers, and it also cures them, now if thats what you want fine, but I like mine fresh and as bloody as possible, the blood is what has all the attractant power in my book. Livers are cheap and almost every grocery store has some fresh ones, I usually get mine on the way to the lake at a grocery store at the last town on the way to where I'm going fishing, can't beat fresh with livers imho, and green liver has never produced the size of fish fresh does, nowadays I mainly use cut and livebait, I get pretty bored with 1 to 4 lbers, which is all we catch on livers around here, put on half a gill and toss it in the same spot for some bigger action.

Either throw them away and buy new next trip (a tub is less than $2 here anyways), or cure them out in the sun.

Freezing them will definitely save them, but they come out softer and slimier. I freeze mine occasionally, and them cut pieces of them and tie them up in bait mesh/spawn net. That way, it doesn't matter if they are soft & slimy. You can't throw them off the hook, but the mesh is soft enough to tear off when a bait change is necessary.
If you don't want to use bait mesh, then I'd just get fresh liver. At $1.50 (+/-) per container, it's heard to beat. I get mine at Wal-Mart, Perdue brand, they seem to have the best livers I have found to date. ;)
