11,000+ views, probably less than 500 different people

If I had to worry about where I fished that much I'd QUIT
Just let the thugs run you off places you have fished all of your life? Not me, No way

hand guns are for killing people
Never mind, you think what you want to think, lol

I carry my .40 Glock with me most of the time when I go catfishing. It is a very worst case senerio tool. I have hundreds of hours of training with it in all kinds of high stress situations including simmunition training. Next to actually getting shot at with real bullets there is no better way to find out how you will react if the situation ever does arise. Not as bad as a real bullet but them little suckers hurt! I would much rather talk my way out of a situation, which I have even more training doing, or just walk away, which takes no training and is often the best solution. If someone wants my truck, boat, gear, fine I can buy more. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting more than my share of murders, rapist, and serial killers (prison guard since 2007) to know that some people are out there that hurt people just because they enjoy hurting people. Being on the river on the outskirts of a major city at night makes me a high risk target, along with the fact that I don't make many friends at work. I will do whatever I can to not use it but if it comes down to me or them, I want to be prepared to make sure it's them.

Amen Clayton. I have a gun I can reach from my shower. I have carried for 40 years. I have never shot anyone but in the right situation I will. I shot at a burgular once 30 or so years ago. I missed but have never been bothered again. I retired from the prison and know what people are capable of and the only way to stop them is defend yourself. If you send them to jail they may be back in your house before you can do the necessary paper work and get back home yourself. Bob can reason with them while they go up his ------- if he wants. I will shoot because I know there is no reasoning.

No, a hand gun is a means of getting to a real gun (quote borrowed from Sons of Guns). Hopefully I'll never have to use my handgun, but should it be needed, I'd much rather have it than not. That said, luckily I fish an area where I don't need it, but have carried a shotgun, small rifle, or pellet gun with me for snakes on many occasions. Have one copperhead try to climb in the boat with you or come up the bank between your feet and you'll understand why.

I have found that 100% of the time, snakes try to avoid humans. Not once have I needed to shoot one.

Anyone carry one of the pocket glocks? What model #? I was thinking of trading my CZ in for one. It'd make summer time carry easier for me then my 75 compact (not really that compact).
