i've had the most luck outta heads

Since i'm targeting blue catfish I always throw out the skipjack heads. On occasion i will cut the skipjack into chunks and use the chunks.
ive tried heads several times but i never catch anything with them. so i either use them whole and scale them or i use the gut pocket
i've only recently started useing cutbait, but for me its the head cut at an angle, more narrow at the top and wider at the bottom to include about half the guy pocket, thats what i get the most hits on anyways.
it depends on what im fishing for, if im fishing for flatheads definately always whole, for blues i like to use the heads with guts intact!!!
Here lately I've been having a lot of success with flatheads with a bluegill with it's tail cut out. Like I fillet both sides, then cut the tail out, leaving the head with two fillets flapping behind.
I would like to use it for channels, but I think their a little bit too big for them.
I like using the head with the guts attached if possible,if not ill use the head first.
I'm the first to vote tail. Actually not the tail, but the end half of a small creek chub, preferably with guts still attached. This is for channels on a circle hook, I thread the hook through half a creek chub tail end. So I don't actually mean the tail itself, the fin seems worthless, but the rear half of my cut bait fish.
Early spring it's shad heads, but in the summer it's gotta be any middle chunk. The section right above the tail is good but I always cut the tail fins off.
