Default Voodoo, Backwoods Magic, Home Remedies

A fellow BOCer (katfish Ken) and i were talking this evening/afternoon about home remedies that have been passed down over the years. However over the years it seems like many of them are getting to be forgotten. so out of intrest, what are some of your backwoods, voodoo, home remedies that may help cure sickness, depression, illness, etc that have been passed down to you over the years.

I'll go first. My grand parents used to say that if you got burned while cooking to put butter or lard on it.

I know alot of them but would have to think of them all so I will start with one I know works , anyway it seemed to work.....lol

I was bit by a Water Moccasin in 93 and asd the wife was driving me to the hospital I remembered someone saying hold cigarette tobacco on the holes to draw the venom . I did it and there was some kind of fluid soaking the tobacco and I survived ......lol

Tea bags will help to stop bleeding it causes the blood to clot .

Jack Daniels , honey , tea , and lemon juice will help a common cold .

    More to come ...
