I will be getting 3 reels this year that will be dedicated to braid. But in the past there is no way it would work for all my fishing. Sand & logs, braid is fine but if a big shovel head rakes it sideways across a rock your done.

But as some have said the line capacity & casting improvment is to good, not to make use of it at times.

I use both, I use braid on my spinning outfits and mono on my baitcasters. I tried braid on my baitcasters didn't care for it.

I know most of you have heard this before, so I'm going to say it again :laugh1:

Really; If your on a bank casting to get the longest distance you can each and every time, the braid is your enemy IMHO because if and when it backlashes, and it WILL, its done! its over!, You have to cut it off, because if you don't It will cut you trying, No doubt about it. Its happened to me twice and that was enough, I never bought another spool.

I've fished TRILINE, BERKEY BIG GAME 20- 30# for the earlier part of my fishing life 25yr's,Yes most of them had a memory like a elephant, you had to almost stretch the stuff to a breaking point to loosen it, or break a rod trying.

I was given the advise to try 25-30# PLine from the owner of Smyrna Bait-house some 17-20yrs ago and never looked back. Tried every line they have produced, and all of the 30# will pull a 18' loaded boat upstream in current when hung up without popping. You will have to tie your line off and snap your line or cut it to break it off.

I have found that the FlouroClear brand to be the best IMHO!..It has little to no memory at all, and I have been using it for the past 4-5yrs on all my set-ups and have O problems with it. 30# is as thin as 17# BG and flys off the reels with ease, little to no stretch, solid hook-sets, takes all the abuse of the rocks, wood, etc... very tough line. I might/only change my line during the year, If it gets broken off. , as long as I keep my eyes on it checking for burr's I could fish it a couple yrs or more without worry.

I carry 6 spools at all times. 2- 25#-4-30#, JMHO about what I think is the best Mono Line out there..:star:

Whats up Greg,, Your right! that flourocarbon is strong stuff too, I used it a yr or 2 But I found that it has more memory than the Flouro-Clear,thats why I went with it for my main line. The flourocarbon's do make a great leader material though.. I like the stuff alot..

You catching any fish? how cold is it out their? we just got 6" snow in my yard...LOL... darn stuff.

I used to use power pro in 50-65.lb depending on what im fishing for...but now i like the Tug-O-War...and it is cheaper also..Jeff said he went down on shipping I dont know how he did it was so cheap...The loine went up a little but it is still cheaper than power pro and i like the hi-vis better aswell so thank you team catfish for this great line and cheap prices!!!..

For leader i use what ever i have i have 17-20# big game on now..But i need to go up to atleast 30 with my rigs and main line be as strong as it is...

I caroline rig and i have a sinker bead and palomar knot the swivle on the braid..Then take a mono and improved clinch knot it to the other end of my barrle swivle then i Snell a hook...If your using bank sinkers or river sinkers i use a sinker slide...
