i can only agree. i tried a couple different braids. and i had dig in trouble when snagged. troublr with backlashing and when it did it was so bad it had to be cut. and different from what others said i had more trouble untangeling it than i ever did with mono. to expensive. i want my reel full of line. and if i got to back it with mono why mess with it? ive had mono on my 6500's for 4 years. still use it.

i got a bunch of power pro onece to switch all my reels. i tried it on a couple and sold the rest. 25# 30# berkly big game works great for me. getting ready to switch the 4 year old line with yellow invicta.

i did use braid on spinning reels before i went to baitcasters. it was ok on them. i had 40 lb spiderwire on one. i didnt like it. strands cam apart. sucked. but on other i had 50 lb prider wire. it was more braided like rope. it was pretty good stuff. i pulled up a huge 15 17 foot log one time from 12 foot of water. it fraid after time where sinker slid up and down. i think that line was on the outfit i sold to apanthoen.

Never had a problem with my tangleing. Your just have to make sure you put the string on your reel tight. I use trilene big game. And i also use off shore angler mono. Not had the least bit of problems.

I only use power pro, 65-80lb test and never have any problems in whatever structure I'm fishing in.

    Default braid

i put power pro on all my reels last year cost a lot but it cast 20 to 30 % farther and is thinner (better for drifting ,tight lineing, more line on reel) and is stronger than any line ive ever used mid year this year i will have yhe line revirsed on reel get two yrs out of one spooling i will never use any thing else

    Fishing the Missouri & sippi

Braid hands down .. mono leader .

    3-way
    at least 85lb main line
    130lb tufline hook leader
    20-30lb mono lead line

the 130lb tufline is just for the blues with the sharp teeth.. if the hook rolls inside they can sand down the braid and mono fast if he has any decent size to him at all.

Ive never ever lost a fish with a broke hook leader line like this ever!

I keep buying braid but keep going back to mono. Mostly cause I like simple knots and I think braid will eventually hurt a reel. I use light braid on spinners cause of twist but not on baitcasters.
