Recently I caught one of those old brick zach morris cell phones from the early 80's. I was going to keep it but it was covered in slime and filled with mud.

Quite some years ago: A ton of raccoon tracks and scales and scrapes in the mud that I followed back in the tamaracks about 25 feet to discover a 25lb+ northern pike with just the flesh right behind the bottom of its gills eaten out and the guts exposed...

From what I could tell that raccoon ambushed the pike in really shallow water on the bank and the pike was alive and struggling when it happened.

One weekend during college the boys and myself threw a little party and stayed up all night drinking and dancing with the ladies. Well, around 5am... we decided to go to the Waffle House. My g/f at the time was driving and I was in the passanger and my friend was behind the driver... we turn to get in the turning lane and low and behold a MONSTER sized tackle box setting straight up in the middle of the road.

We homed in on it, my friend in the back seat opened his door and scooped it up. Man O MAN was this tackle box full. 1, 000's of Hooks, weights lures. This was seriously years and years of collected tackle.

I put it in the paper saying " Found Huge Tackle Box, if you can describe 1 unique thing that was in the top of the tackle box I'll know it's yours. 234-234-2342"

No one ever called... the one unique thing was a big OLE' bag of pot. lmao.

I used this tackle box for 4-5 years until my now ex g/f decided to keep everything when we split.

I know this isnt a "found on the bank" story, but still an awesome find.

Great story Mike. It is good for the bobcat that he ran up on someone that knows enough about
nature that they could lend the little fella a helping hand. Alot of people would think they were
about to be attacked when he came running up.

Yeh, he came up running along the beach crying, when we tried to get him he kinda tried to hide among some roots and stuff, that's just instinct...but he wasn't no bigger than a small kitten and we were at the bootm of a huge cut bank cliff...his mama was not around... trust me... we wanted her be.... but he's healthy and alive..... we did what we felt was the right thing....
