i couldnt agree more guys. if they have to build it "on" the water why cant they just dig a pond and plop it out right in the middle of it?
the things we need on the river are more parks that provide access to the river and police to patrol them.

Actually, the construction company i work for (McCarthy) built lumier place, the casino is actually floating in Mississippi river water, the casino floor is more or less a big barge floating in a containment concrete pond that has mississippi river water pumped into it, i think it is flotaing in 3 feet of water Kind cool on the construction side of things...just a little FYI, but I agree we dont need any more casino's in this area.

Columbia bottoms is one of the nicest boat ramps in that area. The only one that you get to in high water or low. But.....if I can get to the top floor I might be able to see where Kieth is fishing.

I agree with all of you, we dont need another Casino in the area. I think the conservation owns that land and due to how they are hurting for money, it might be a good possibility that they sell the land.

This is so stupid. This casino is four blocks from the river. Thats the way politics work. They start out that the boat has to cruise a certain percentage of time to get the gambling bill passed. Then they do what they want later with the loopholes they leave in intentionally.

WE also have the new River City Casino being built in Lemay. And,if I'm not mistaken, the people of Missouri voted no more casinos in the state.Don't get me wrong,I play.Crap,I bought my first sonar unit with my winnings from Ameristar.Went right over to Bass Pro as soon as I hit. But,we have enough gambling and too few parks and ramps in this state.Use the money for that. There's plenty of land from flood plain buy-outs to use.
