    Default Old Fly Reel

    I found an old Fly reel at a Garage sale. Its a Garcia-Matic No.1430 Does anyone know about this Reel?? Im not a Fly Fisherman but have allways wanted to try. Anyone have a Scematic on how to service this Reel?? Thanks for any help......Jeff :big_smile:

    I can't be any help to you I have never used a fly reel.I have always wanted to though,might have to give it a try soon.

    from what a friend tells me those automatic type of reels where popular during the 50's and maybe early 60's they shouldnt be hard to service not much to them just have to watch the spring inside when you take it apart kinda of like a big clock spring not sure if this will help you any
