fresh cut shad seems to be consistent for me...Team Catfish Secret 7 is what I prefer for cheese based dip baits.

i have to say shad i catch flatheads,channels,blues,bass,bowfin (which i hate )
Cut gills is the way I go. I used to use shrimp a lot as well as livers.
I have done alot of catfishing and would have to say Shad gut's comes first then cut shad . If no shad and I am rod and reeling I will go with shrimp then to a dip bait . I Like Doc's with blood added . Have not tried many other dip bait's because Doc's work's just fine for me .
I like Sonny's regular and Junnies Wicked Sticky.
You guy's are not going to belive thiis , I would not have if I had not seen this . You know when your using shad and go to cut him up . I usly start right behind the head and through it over board but today I used them . I could not belive it . I caught more fish on the head part than I did the rest of the body that I had cut up in small bit's .
I like to fellet the shad from tail to head and pin part of the shad to leave the gut pocket open.....sometimes tie it on with thread in strong current, or if the sm ones are picking at it....i also dip mine in xxx blood bait from AMAYSING FISHING . COM USCA sponcer.....
I do the same thing daystarhis . I can tell you know your shad too . Noo this is the first time I had used the head well I really did not use the head my buddy that was with me put the head on I would have never done it . We had 50 jug's out and it was all I could do to keep upwith taking the fish off the jug then I got to noticing the shad head's . They hit the head's I say 75% of the fish he caught at Sardis that day, unreal in my eye .
Pic's of the last two day' fishing in the rain .
i chose bluegill live or cut but my proven channel cat bait is skin on channel cat fillets it has produced many fish over 15 lb.
