I had some great luck with tadpoles in a creek this past weekend. This body didn't seem to have a very large bait fish population but had a lot of frogs, so I think it was just something they were used to.
Hey everyone, kinda new to the catfishing. I used to be into trout and bass but lost interest when I caught a 5lb channel cat and had the best fight of my short fishing career. I've tried the liver and the cut bait but find that to be such a hassel. I seen some guys handing out some bait at a tourney called rippin lips catfish bait. They said it was made from 100% chicken liver. Didnt know if anyone has ever used it, tempted to buy it from their website www.rippinlips.net but wanted to talk to other fishermen to see what they think.
Welcome to the BOC Chris.

Let me just say I sometimes catch nice size cats by hooking first a nightcrawler let most of it hang freely and then hook on a raw shelled fresh shrimp
I like worms, nite crawlers and raw shrimp. I tried cooked shrimp that was soaked in garlic oil and had no bites on it. This week (mid-June) I'm out nearly every day and get no bites on cut carp, no bites on smelt and few bites on Chic' livers. Worms get me lots of problems with bait stealers. So given a choice, I would take RAW Shrimp.
Perhaps it varies with different lakes and sreams in other parts of our US of America.
channels eat anything,shane
My favorite is shrimp, it's just so expensive. Second is fresh cut bait, bream, shad, perch, whatever. Third is livers.
Has to be between I would say Chicken livers and minnows, and green night crawlers seems to work pretty good for me to.
