Favorite channel catfish bait

I usually use Little Smokies, easy to hook and stay on good too. Plus the wife will bait her own hook with those...LOL :confused2:

Shad Guts, Shrimp (Garlic), Dipa Bait. One of three will normally work.

I mainly use cut bait or shad guts. But when I want to catch a bunch of eater sized channels I use dip bait. Secret 7 and catfish dynamite are the two I use. I have caught several nice channels (5-10#'s) using the secret 7.

I voted for Bluegill! This bait seems to catch the bigger cats. Also, I really like drifting blood. Using coagulated blood on a long leader and 4/0 treble hook, is deadly on the cats when the water temps reach into the high 50's and 60's. I had great success this weekend, fishing a short period of time using blood. To me it's the best channel cat bait of all time for cats, big and small. Small: I mean cats 5lbs and more. Big: 10 lbs. and larger.
