I just use 1/2- 1/3 of a liver on a treble hook. It stays on fine for my unless I'm trying to cast across the reservoir I'm fishing.

chicken livers
I had a minor revolt in the household the last time I tried to toughen up my chicken livers in the microwave. I now put it on a piece of fine screen-door screen that I have sprayed Pam on, then salt and garlic. Some I use vanilla on, and some I soak in cheese bait before drying. All seem to work well on some days.

tie a snap swivel on and run the eye of your treble hook thru the middle of the piece of liver, hang the treble on the swivel and THEN drape the loose ends on the barbs. couldn't cast that off if you wanted to!

I always let 'em dry out some in the sun first,or just lay it out and pat dry with paper towel then cut with sharp knife and weave onto hook,
The secret to keeping it on the hook is a 1/2 a night crawler put on right after the liver, the color and texture is the same as the liver and it keeps it on for a pretty good while. guaranteed.
Good Luck.:0a26:
