My Son-in-Law Bob and his fishing buddy Phillip went fishing Thursday evening on the Missouri River on the Iowa side down river from Council Bluffs and caught some shovel nosed sturgeon and also a Pallad that weighed around 15 pounds,I think Phillip caught the Pallad He was surprized to say the least.

Anyway Bob has only been into this fishing sport now going on two years and I have been helping him by giving him some rods and reels and fishing stuff and advice.I have to laugh because last year I took him out to the garage and told him to pick out a landing net out of the 5 or 6 I had hanging from the rafters so he picks out one that would be good for pan fish and maybe a fish up to around 5 pounds and I ask him you sure you don't want one of the larger nets ? Nope he says that one will work,LOL So when I talked with him on the phone last night Bob was saying that net I gave Him was sorta Small,We had a hard time landing it in that Small net he says because that Pallad Sturgeon was a good 40 inches long.I had to laugh as I had suggested that he pick out a larger one,Oh well I'll get him fixed up with one.I also reminded Him that when he was fishing the Missouri River your liable to catch anything from dinks to 100 pounders.I think now he is starting to listen. He is a Great Kid (Bob) His Father died when Bob was young and there was no one round to teach things like how big of a net you need when you fish the river,LOL J.D.

I guess if you are going to break the law you may as well go all out ..... then again the fine is technically per fish .... Let's see 332 x $2500 = Screwed for Life

Davenport anglers busted for 332 fish over limitA Davenport couple were each charged Wednesday with three counts of being over possession of white bass after police say they found them with 332 more than allowed.
Jeremy Nguyen and Chi Hue Tran, ages and address unavailable, were investigated after the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Davenport police received an anonymous tip on May 17. Officers went to their residence where they found 128 recently caught white bass being filleted, 218 whole white bass and 628 white bass fillets in their freezer.
The Mississippi River daily limit for white bass is 25, with a possession limit of 50. White bass, abundant in the Mississippi River, rarely get larger than two or three pounds.
The anonymous tip reported that the couple was fishing the Mississippi River near the Rhythm City casino last Friday for about two or three hours, occasionally taking their catch to their car.
The anglers each face a $2,500 fine for each count and the loss of fishing privileges for two years

But that danged ol' Mississippi River is 15.4 ft and rising

So I guess I' listen to Mr Cash sing about it .... 5 Feet High and Rising (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mf-BIZumaA)

           Big River (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_21p14TAXM)

I met her accidentally in St. Paul, Minnesota,
She tore me up everything I heard her drawl, that southern drawl.
Well I heard my dream went back downstream, cavortin in Davenport,
And I follow you big river when you called.

How about some Tractors

Tryin' To Get To New Orleans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqQZ9et0cI0)

Sidetracked up in Illinois
I'm not that smart...I'm an innocent boy
She called me baby...she called me honey...
She called a cab and took away my money

On the road again
Somewhere south of Moline
And I need a little help
You see I'm tryin' to get to New Orleans
