I am heading to Perry Lake this weekend staying at the state park. I was wondering are there any close bait shops around perry besides the marina near the state park? one for a lisence for the weekend and two, the much needed bait. Worms for catching bluegill, etc for bait or even some frozen shad. I won't have my boat and will be bank bound around the area some place. Oh yea, are the crappie near the banks as well. I figured I'd hit up the Wacker and see what he's up to. Thursday 5am we hit the surf. First time ever surf fishing and I got a legal halibut and a handful of perch. Later that day the wife passed her exam!! Then we celebrated joes crab shack. Man what a good day. Friday 5am we hit the surf again. Much slower but did manage a nice perch. Saturday we did the San Bernardino mud run where my 4 year old beat everyone in the 7 and under division. Later that day we went to the Redlands air show. Sunday 5am Oat picks me up and we roll out and nail a ton of striper, 1 trout, 1 LMB, and had a 2# crappie on the line but oat ties granny knots so it took the jig off. Crazy week last week, good eats this week

Went out fishing today to a good spot. Took my good buddy out to do some bass hunting. Arrived to the spot at around 5:30pm just enough for a couple of hrs of fishing. Third cast and BAM! First fish. Most of the fish were in the tullies and around trees as usual. Caught a total of 62 fish with my buddy coming in real close. Most fish were in the 1 lb range but we both caught a few in the 4 to 4 3/4 lbs range. I was planning on staying until around 2-3 am to target some flats as well but at around 10 pm the squeeters got so bad that we had to run away. Never seen squeeters ignore 100% deet like this ones. Only caught one small flattie (2 lbs 3 oz) on a night crawler. First two pics are of my buddy and the last two are two different fish that I caught. Both in the 4 lbs range. No cats, lost a prefect bait carp about a pound or so.


My buddy has been wanting to go and since I've been hearing pleasant was the spot so we headed out. Didn't bring the boat this time. Currently fishing on shore in cottonwood. Me and my buddy just lost a lil carp maybe 3 pounds. We have two lines out, one with a gill and one with fresh shrimp.
