Mossy Back

Took the canoe to Wilcox lake to see how my dry fit measurements were close enough or if i needed to make some adjustments... Its about 15 miles from the house,we packed up the canoe and took out little girl with us...
we got to the lake,took the canoe off top of the car and put it in the water,all is well so far.. got everything out of the car all the pipe the crab floats that are now stabilizers a couple life jackets and were pretty much ready to try it out... i walked towards the canoe that was setting in about 7'' of water and wasnt even expecting what happened next... I sank in about 3ft of muddy,silty,nasty black azz lake goo.. I was up past my knees and up to my upper thigh... O boy i got jakked up,i knew there was no way it was gonna happen.. No way my wife could get in the canoe...All that time all that work,then to make things worse it started raining on the way to the river..we just took it to the house...
After the rain stopped,it was more like a T-storm.. I thought,it would be a good time to fish. Went to the river,and set up on the bank in my favorite spot.. i was catching some bait off of bee moth and crwlers,got a decent size Crappie and tossed it in... I seen my pole bounce a couple times and to me it didnt look like a bite... bout 5 minutes after that,it went down and stayed there..I tightened the drag as i let my pole tip down towards the water,BAM SET THE HOOK and felt something pretty good on the other end...I was happy bout that but began to worrie about all the ledges and boulders on the bottom..It can be very difficult to land fish in rocky areas like i fish...I got him up pretty quick but it was without a fight,he dove 3 times towards the bottom..the second he dove it was a hard long run and he took some line with efforts...I finally got him in after a solid 10 minute fight... What a beauty, my spring scales said 28 lbs im not sure how accurate they are but i know hes a solid 25 anyway... It has been 4 weeks since i got a decent size fish and went through heck n back trying and trying , getting line broke time after time, losing rigs, ahhh FRUSTRATION had set in... Redemption is mine and there is more where he came from...
