I just switched to braid last year and I love the manageability of it when tying knots, and the awesome bite indication. I still use a mono leader with it, but that's just a throw back from my sea fishing days.
When using Braid, a Mono leader is almost mandatory. Different folks use varied lengths, but, the abrasion resistance is a must have with the use of braid mainline.
