The Horizontal picture, shows a 6500,7000,9000,and, a 10000

The Vertical picture shows from the bottom, the 6500, 7000iC3, 9000i, 10000BG.

The 9-10K reels are the same diameter. The second picture shows the difference in width between the 9-10K ..
also, the 7000 is wider than the 9000, but, smaller diameter.

and, Everybody knows about the 6500's.. !!!

There are some other model configuration differences, if anyone's interested,I can show some of those as well.

Well, I was thinking this might be a good place for a legitimate Blog..

In working with, and on the ABu reels, The more I learn, the more I find I need to learn.
Example,, a 7000 is not just any old 7000.
The different vintages, have different engineering, Parts, and mechanisms.
Also, different models have varying features.
Some have low gearing, some higher, several late models have the Instant Anti Reverse bearings.
In working with these reels, co-mingling parts will work sometimes, others there's too many differences to justify the modification.
I've found studying the schematics of various models will show similarities, differences, and capability of proposed modifications.
But, basically, a 7000 is only a 7000 in size and capacity only.
