I would like to start near the south end of the lake. I looked at canal lakes, but their website is pretty crappy and it leaves me wondering if its junky or not. And I've looked at Blacks Camps site. It looks pretty awesome. My question about it is, is their any problem traveling through the canal if the weather is rough? And how long is that canal? You see this is my first time ever going to santee. And my wife and I will be alligator hunting. And my permit if for north of the bridge on the canal. But I want to stay somewhere pretty good. With a/c and somewhere to eat. And a boat slip if possible. Blacks camp looks like it has all that,
Any advice is appreciated fellas.

Blacks was clean and the people were very nice when I was there in 2007. Yes the canal can get rough on windy days. I hope this is some help.
