Personally, I think Mooneye is equal to, or better than Skipjack if you can find'em.

Examples of Skipjack:
Skipjack One
Skipjack Two
Skipjack Three

Examples of Mooneye:
Mooneye One
Mooneye Two

I caught my Blue cat in my Avatar on the Missouri River in front of a wing dyke (or upside of a wing dyke).

Mooneye are awesome bait but like you said they are a little harder to find. Seems like the big blues love em when theyre in deep water. As for where to catch each this time a year.... ive been catching a ton of skippies under the dam the last two weeks. Hot water discharges are good too. Anywhere there is a lot of oxygen in the water. I tried my hand in fly fishing for them last night, caught 20 nice ones a bunch of small ones and countless stipers. I was told that fishing around marina gas pumps is good for mooneye this time of year. I havent tested that theory yet though. I catch them where barges tie up and in slack waters below the dam.
