My main goal is to give back on the banks of the Arkansas.
Meaning The Arkansas river has given me a lot and I think I sure leave her cleaner than when I put my pole in the rocks. I always take at least one bag of trash back up the mountian of dam rocks I travel and I am hoping to take two each bags each trip I make. As some of ya know, the rocks I travel are long ad hard. WDM lock two is one of them. But if I can give back might get the bigger and better.:beauty:
I got a huge opportunity this year to fish the mississippi for my very first time (THANKS COACH) GOT TO LET GO TO GROW A 37 POUNDER!!!!!and met a lot of the greatest catfishing folks I know today. I have learned so much information about catfishing and the river last year I could write a book. This year I would love to learn more. Cant wait till the dogwood blooms to go catch some bait!
Cass has taught me that if you use your imagination, you can get air condition in a tent....Coach, Fishstick, 4low & Carson, Gonefishing, Reload, Dale....Big Popa Brandon and Cali, Little mac and his Wife along with the critters of course Brian, and everyone i have met once or several times on the banks of the Arkansas.

I will carry over my pat. Which is I refuse to kill ANYTHING if i dont not eat it. It lives...Mr. Toothy Aligator gar, Dumb DRUM, or even Grinnal AKA Mr. Slimey....
I love to let the babies go and the little ones are not fried whole as such at my house they are let go to grow. My Personal Best and Above will go back into the water.
I also will keep some to give away which we call fishing for friends. Whe times are toughon my friends, My freezer gets full WINK! and I call up folks and ask if they want some fish filets.....
All of this sounds girlish ad bubblehead like but that is what it is all about,

I just don't think I would have kept it. I would have got some pictures and then got it back into the water to get bigger. I just don't like it when people keep fish of this size. I don't preach CPR but come on. If you can catch a 92lb blue don't you think you could catch plenty of smaller fish to keep. If it died I would keep it to but I would have tried my best to get it revived. I also would've put it in the news story if I couldn't get it revived.

Hey Ratt... next trip, spend a little of your "Rat" hole money on 150 feet of rope to tie to that anchor. It might work better for you than just tossing that anchor over the side.

I like to fish at the end of the wall below the dam... no one can hit me with a sinker there...

the anchor thing dont work for me...That river has took all my store bought anchors...good thing they were given to me,,,,I use big rocks now...cheaper and i do not mind leaving one ...

Sadly, the power plant is just finishing up year 1 of a 5 year hydroelectric generator replacement project. The 800ft walk is here to stay for a while longer.

Unfortunately, as people use wagons to carry their stuff down the walk, they still just cannot be bothered by picking up their empty beer cans and trash. Last time I was fishing there, one fellow netted enough shad to fish with all day long, emptied his net in the rocks and baited up. After an hour or so, the shad weren't live enough to suit him, so he dumped another netfull on the ground. When he was finished for the day, he left those stinking rotting shad laying on the ground for all of the rest of us to walk over and smell.

I could go on forever about how nasty it gets down there due to uncaring fishermen... but I won't. I know none of those uncaring slobs are members of this forum.

All we can do is to shame those who don't know better and teach them about being responsible people... all the while, carrying our own plastic bag to stuff with trash that we find in our fishing places.
