Wives tale bro... "mr flattie" ain't eating this years hatch- or even last years.... it's .... mr. bass, mr. blue gill, and mr. crappie eating the fry... then throw in the damage the human angler does to the larger of the species (Over harvest greed.....) in fact taking the people out of the chain would fix and balance problems completely.
I agree, I was Just messing around but hopefully Mr Flat Head can keep down the Carp. The Shad are doing very well also. There is nothing like a Big Fat Greasy Gizzard for a snack.
I would call DNR on that one just to be 100% positive. Crappie being a gamefish as well as having a size requirement, if you get caught with one that size in your tank that could be a bad no no to them. Its not wether you are fishing with them to that extent but that they would be undersize and you would be "In possession of" then the baiting up part would probobly be a different story. I would call them to make sure.
I love your boat I would leave my wife for it
I fish below Wheeler dam and have had some good luck on many days. How does the catfishing on reels and jugging compare below the dam in Florence? I've heard it is OK but is closer to town and there is a lot more to do--anyone do any fishing there?
I have seen alot of monsters pulled out from 80 ft downtown Florence on huge Gizzard Shad
