I have a great recipe for cheese dough bait and have caught hundreds of channels on Sam Rayburn, but would like to change it to a punch bait. Any suggestions, other than cat tails, to use as an ingredient to help hold it on the hook? Any help will be appreciated!

Alright, I'am new to this sight and new to river fishin. I have been fishin since i could hold a rod in my hand but always stuck with fishin in lakes. I wanna start fishing rivers but Its new territory. I will be bank fishin as I unfortunately do not have a boat.
