After asking off and on for many years I finally got my wife to agree to go fishing with me. It was our anniversary weekend (13 years) when we headed out to Atwood lake together. We didn't catch much, a couple of bluegill and small crappie but we had a lot of fun.
Next weekend she wanted to go again so we hit Leesville lake. She caught a 12 inch bass and I caught a few bluegill.
Next was Tappan lake. Didn't catch

When Terri and I got married she owned a Berkley Cherrywood rod with a Daiwa Goldcast reel and her Umco 103A tacklebox circa early 1980s. This setup worked fairly well for the first few trips but it wasn't long before she wanted a second rod and reel. I took her to Gander Mountain (we love that store) where she chose a pink Zebco 33 spincast combo pre-spooled with 10lb Cajun line. Together they kept us both busy. While she was catching panfish with one, I was busy repairing the other on the lakeshore.
The radar was fairly clear when the 'Fishin'ista' and I left to go fishing the evening of July 27th 2012. We were excited to try a new spot we had scouted out and wanted to get there before dark. We walked about a 1/4 mi back into the woods to a secluded spot at Lake Nimisila and set up camp on the lake shore in a pine grove. The fishing started out kind of slow, a few bluegill, a small bass, etc. It was a beautiful warm, although humid summer evening. About an hour after we arrived the sky began
