Down here in South Louisiana lots of commercial fisherman make their living catching catfish and if you think they are going to stand by and watch their livelihood be taken away from them by some "Sportfishermen", you are in for a rude awakening. This is not like Bass fishing where most people do not eat bass anyway. You are talking about a fish that just about everyone eats and they could give two damns about a bunch of folks who want to glamorize their dinner by making money off sponsorships myself included. I love Catfishing as much as the next fellow and I do my share of culling/catch and release but I also love eating catfish and not the farm raised crap that most people in the country are use to. We eat wild Mississippi River fish and that will never change.
