Central IL Fishing report from SJ-R

Though they showed no love to Lake Clinton :crying:

Local Ponds and Reserviors * : Crappie and Bluegill are seeing some improvements. Deep areas in Brush likely spots to hold fish

Lake Springfield ** : Crappie are biting in some spots on minnows

Sangchris **: Water levels very low. Crappie are on minnows near the dam and in hot ditch with the larger fish being found in the Ditch. Carp are bitting in the Hot ditch

Sangamon River (Riverton to Petersburg) *: not much to report, few channel cats here and there

Lake Shelbyville *** : Catfish being caught on bottom using Shad guts. Crappie on minnows but are still deep

Spring Lake **: Crappie on minnows off the deep points

Chautauqua Lake ** : Crappie actioing picking up

Il River, Beardstown *: Slow for everything, Water levels are low

IL River, Havana *: Channel Catfish bite slow, water levels lower than norm.

Lake Carlinville * : not much action to report

Lake Taylorville ** : Crappie Action slower in deep brush. Bass in drop offs near points. Lake is full of COMMERCIAL Carp fisherman who have been allowed to harvest up to 100,000 pounds of Buffalo to be shipped to NY.

They got all these from various local Bait and Tackle shops in the area.
No idea why they left Clinton off the list.

coffeen lake report.

Catfish biting good to excellent. Henry had excellent luck. Scott and I had decent luck. Scott was using sonnys and I was using Skip jack fillets. Seemed to bite better in shallow coves. Fish were of decent size, 1.5 lbs , and excellent condition.

Bass rated excellent: Talked to two guys that said the big bass are really biting. They were fishing tournemnet today. They had 5 fish at 22 lbs, Last week they caught 40 fish that weight 170 lbs plus.

Bluegill slow Crappie slow.

Water level very low looked to be 5 to 6 feet below normal. Water temp ranged from 65 to 95 in the hot ditch.
